Russia sits alone atop Group A after winning its second straight game of the 2015 IIHF U18 World Championship, dispatching Germany with ease 6-0.
Six different Russian players scored in the game, while goaltender Anton Krasotkin posted a 33-save shutout. Dmitri Sokolov had two assists, and forward Ivan Yemets notched a goal and an assist to lead Russia in points.
Despite almost equaling the Russians in shots on net, Germany couldn’t get any pucks past goalie Anton Krasotkin, who along with Game 1 starter Ilya Samsonov are forming a formidable goaltending platoon for the Russians.
On the heels of victories against the United States and now Germany, Russia gets a day’s rest before its third game against Slovakia on Sunday. Germany has only played one game so far and will take on Sweden tomorrow.
